Finally dipped my big toe in the wonderfully wacky world of reality "docu-soaps".... and I'm not sure if I've ever been more tired in my life! The only thing more exhausting than documenting someone's life is documenting someone's life and then trying to cram your own life in the few waking minutes you're not shooting. Well, gang. This year I opted out of Promax to spend a week at the beach with my family. The one thing I missed is meeting up with old friends & cohorts, seeing the work others are doing out there in the biz, and getting new ideas. I know when I worked for lower budgeted operations, there was no option of Promax for anyone. I think the same may be true of the long format producers out there and NATPE or other conferences. I'm a composer for TV. I was a staff composer at Scripps (HGTV, DiY, etc.) for six years and worked with lots of producers on many promos, shows, commercials, ID's, image campaigns, and blah. I actually like producers. I even married one.
Sharon and I met at Scripps. We were both going through a divorce and just clicked. She's my best friend. And she's a producer.
